good point, the people in charge of these professional teams need to realize that the players are people too. they can get into fights, get stopped by the police, have a party and might smoke weed or something. they act like sports is they're entire life and they think one mistake changes the face of their organization and lose money. but some people like me don't really give a f*ck what they're doing off the field. if u suspend these superstar players they actually lose more money.

Your question is about the NFL, yet your main point is about NBA star Tim Duncan (an excellent swimmer!). What is your point?
My points: 1) The fact that ALL sports stars make millions and teachers make welfare lines kills me. Do Terrell Owens, Ron Artest or Adam Jones earn their pay? They SHOULD be under a microscope, just the way today's educators are. That's fair.
2) If the referees make a call, live with it. Stop teaching bad sportsmanship. Referees are, in fact, human. If you can have a bad game, Shaquille, so can the ref. Respect the zebras and they'll respect you.
3) Final word: Stars are getting the lion's share of the benefits of role modelling instead of the true models. Live up to the mark, then.

Yes. They have total contro and feel as they can do what ever they want.
In my area we used to have the NFL Network untill a new cable company came into the picture.
They tried to compromise with them but the NFL feels it has power over everything else, including its players
Yes they are a role model. But the team should take care of the punisments and The NFL should just keep everything in organized

If kids weren't a large demographic of sports figures, than it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal to the majority of people. It isn't hard to keep yourself out of trouble. Even though Pac-man didn't do anything, he was in the wrong place, wrong time several times. When you're getting paid to do something, like sports, you have an obligation to your team. Your actions reflect your team. Plus, if those actions keep you from playing, like if you're shot, it hurts your team. More players need to be like Marvin Harrison and other great players who keep out of trouble (most of the NFL).
Joey Crawford throwing Duncan off of the bench was bull though.
