I would personally put in the Ice if ice is needed in the drink but sometimes I see people that put their drink in first.

Ice first so that way the drink doesn't overflow like if I were to put the ice in last causing a big mess.

The only time that I put the drink in first is when I am making coffee. When using the powder creamer (my work is cheap) it will clump up when trying to mix when cold. So I put the sugar and creamer in hot then ice the coffee down. It makes a hell of a mess but it taste so good. =)

Put in the ice first because if you put in the water first and then the ice the water spills. lol
