Why is it, the more I try to treat people as I would like to be treated, do the right thing, and try to be just and fair, I seem to really get the shaft.
By the same token, why does it seem like the bigger a liar or a backstabber or a gossipmonger you are.. the better off those people are and the further they go in life?
I try to teach my kids my way of doing things..but so often it seems they'd have better luck being a POS than a good person..any thoughts on this?

In some ways I agree. I think it's worth it though. I don't have a lot of friends, but the people I am friends with are really good people. I don't think I would have them if I were like so many other rotten people. I also don't think those people are really happy. You just have to be smart and strong if you are going to be a good person, don't be taken advantage of, and stand up for yourself. Also be realistic about others. Know a bad apple when you see one and avoid it.

And take heart. There really are some very good people out there.

Soemtimes it seems like the wrong people get ahead by immoral means, but those people tend to live shallow, unfulfilled, and lonely lives. Doing what's right, even when everyone else seems to be doing something else, is still the right thing to do. You have to work hard to get ahead by honest means, but that kind of life is a happier one than the alternative.

There's no such thing as "normal", but yeah we all think we're a bit weird sometimes. Keep teaching your kids good morals; being a ***** comes back to bite you in the *** at some point.

i know what you mean. but i would rather see more nice ppl in this world....they seem to be fading away quickly....please try to steer your kids the way you are now.....it may be harder and what not, but when i run into one nice person, i never forget them...they are the ones that leave a lasting impression, and i respect those ppl far more than the average everyday sickening ppl i usually meet...good luck!

I'd rather be healthy than considered normal. I'd rather seek truth, fullfilment and love than be considered normal. What norms does one use for "normal"? What most people do? I am not impressed

Keep doing your thing...be good...teach your kids to be good. You've obviously had a bad day, or month, or year...try to brush it off.

Why would you want to be like everyone else? They're shallow, short-sighted, and rude.

the only people that are weird are people that are normal because nobody is normal.
