Why doesn't the news media print positive reinforcement of what is going on in Iraq. Does this sound like a people who hate us? Look at how generous the students are to our grief when the are suffering daily attacks. This is more newsworthy then a two week diatribe on Anna Nicole Simpson. Our media is definately focused on our destruction cause it will create more news.

To Gemini:
And with all that going on around them they found it in their hearts to show support for 32 students who lost their lives at the hands of a murderer. Yes I do think that is noteworthy.

Yea it seems if they arent reporting scandal, then they are reporting ridiculous fluff.
Somewhere along the line, media moguls decided that good news doesnt sell, regardless if its the case or not they are pretty much sticking to it.

Why are there no special news reports on a lot of things that public is missing out on? The working middle class without health insurance? The rise in infant mortality? The national debt? And it isn't Anna Nicole anymore, it's Sheryl Crow and her friggin' toilet paper!

er... that's an AP story... so that is the "liberal media" that's reporting it...

now, to me, this seems like one of those "nice" stories that when you report it... everyone goes "and?"... granted, people shouldn't probably react that way, but they seem to...

and the media is focused on what people want to see... the bad news

you write a newspaper/start a tv show with just the "good news" and see how long it lasts... unfortunate, but true...

It's a nice article, but I copied several paragraphs from it. This is good news???

"In Baghdad and other Iraqi cities, scores of students have been killed and their campuses targeted by Iraqi insurgents who often regard universities as bastions of Western thought and political activities they oppose.

More than 200 university professors have been killed in the past few years, and thousands have fled the country to teach at universities abroad, said Basil al-Khateeb, spokesman for the Iraqi ministry of higher education.

On Feb. 25, a female suicide bomber triggered a ball bearing-packed charge, killing at least 41 people at a mostly Shiite college whose main gate was left littered with blood-soaked student notebooks and papers amid the bodies.

On Jan. 16, two car bombs exploded as students from Mustansiriyah University lined up for rides home, killing at least 70 people and wounding at least 133.

Baghdad Technology University can seem more like a war zone than a college campus, despite its sports fields, modern buildings and a small garden with wooden benches.

Concrete barriers block nearby streets to keep out suicide car bombers. Students from Iraq's complex mix of Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds and Christians walk peacefully across the campus, but the sound of ambulance and police sirens, military convoys driving past and U.S. helicopters flying overhead is nearly constant.

All students are searched before entering the campus video cell phones — which insurgents sometimes use to set off hidden bombs — are banned. Some students fall behind in their studies or miss exams because attacks or fighting prevent them from reaching campus. Baghdad's frequent power outages also can make ."

That would be good news and the media doesn't want us to see any of the positive things happening in Iraq.

I actually heard a quick one today, but they had to finish it up with a remark about how Iraqi view the American concept of universities as if it were dirty.

Typical libs.
