Well I think in America it has to be the grand canyon. Ive traveled the world and evern though I only live three hours from it, the GC has to be one of the top natural things to see on earth.

I would have to say Big Sur, California as it's just the most
beautiful stretch of coastline in the world. The redwoods
come right down to the ocean, the waters are full of sea
otters and seals. Whales pass by during their season
and it's all enviornmentally protected to stay that way.
There are wonderful waterfalls, ocean caves, secluded
rustic inns, magical hiking trails and a couple of truly
Bohemian restaurants where the locals come down
from the mountains at night and play conga drums
around a huge outdoor bonfire. You can smell the thyme
and lupin in the air as you wander the coast. Many
famous people have written and photographed their best work here; Henry Miller and Ansel Adams. They made a
film called The Sandpiper here a long time ago that
really shows the spirit of the place. Pure magic. It's
sparsely populated and their are no "attractions" other
than the most beautiful nature you've ever seen. They've
just published a book on The Big Sur Inn...a very rustic
retreat. You can go to a book store and flip through it
or there are hundreds of books with majestic photographs
of our area. Hope you can make the trip some day.
