I am currently reading Changing Faces by Kimberla Lawson Roby and I love it. I can't wait to get home so I can read more. The characters are so well developed that I actually dislike one of them. When you get that involved, the book is definitely well written.

Switching back and forth between the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon (currently rereading "Voyager", the third book), and "Incendiary Times" which is a collection of essays by Amitav Ghosh focusing on world events, particularly those in the South Asian subcontinent over the last 20 years. I love the Outlander books for their absolutly FABULOUS characters and because I'm a sucker for historical fiction with strong women characters (The Red Tent, anything by Philippa Gregory, Marek Halter, etc) and Incendiary Times is a very well-analyzed look at a number of events, some current, some past that directly affect world affairs today, although many of them don't get the attention they deserve (tensions between India and Pakistan, the potential effects of a nuclear attack, etc.).

The Mind at Work by numerous authors. It's more of an old college text book about reading, thinking, and studying than a novel, but hey it's a book.

Right now i am reading those "ttyl" series. They are really good. The whole series is written througth IMs. They are about three girls Angela, Maddie, and Zoe. They are best friends. In the books they deal with stress, boys, love, dates, school, etc. They are funny and cute. The books are for older teens and i would rate it 8/10 stars!!!! I highly reccomend them! Everyone i know is reading them.
I am also reading Bras and Broomsticks! This is a fabulous book also. It is about a girl who finds out her sister is a witch and she wonders why SHE doesn't have powers! This book is funny and it is about finding yourself even if you DON'T have magical powers :)
They are coming out with a movie of this book in June with Emma Roberts, so that is why i am reading it because i want to see the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also am going to read Harry POTTER IN JULY!!!! I am so excited for the new book!!!!!!
I also read a walk to remember and i LUVED IT !!!! :))
Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

I'm rereading The Alienist by Caleb Carr. It's about a serial killer in turn of the century New York and Doctor Lazslo Kreizler (the 'alienist' of the title) is basically inventing forensic psychology. It's fantastic. I recently read Intepretation of a Murder by Jed Rubenfield which is sort of similar but not nearly as good and incredibly dull.
Next I'm planning to read Other Women by Lisa Alther as it is the last of her fiction titles that I haven't read.

An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor. It's a lovely story about a young man's first days in a practice in Ireland; kinda of a Herriot story with humans instead of animals.
