It really depends on how you personally define the term political dissident. If you include all people who are disenfranchised with any part of the government at all, then the percentage could be as high as 95%. On the other hand, if you are referring to those who disagree with the current administration or Congress, the number would be lower. So you see, it all depends on how you choose to apply the term.

49% to 51% are the loyal opposition. As for true political dissidents, none. It is not a crime to express anti-government thoughts here, so everyone who disagrees with their state government or the Federal government is simply exercising their 1st Amendment rights. (I'm assuming that by "our country" you mean the U.S.A., because this doesn't apply in most countries of the world).

Oh my god I was going to ask that..

People I see hate this government anymore. I see so many people turning on to Anti-Government / Libertarian / Anarchy ideas every day.

I think we may just be at the start of the end of the great nation that is Soviet Amerika. The big questions is... if we don't understand liberty.. is what replaces it going to be worse?
