As I recall the first person to try it was Ugh Ugh, senior. His downfall was the first auroc he came to was a male, and didn't take much to having his hangy-down parts, um, manhandled. That practice was soon discarded, and it is a good thing because the auroc (who was named Dirt) became the father of a second auroc who was also named Dirt (the Ughugh family was not know for its artistry in naming the creatures) who was eventually renamed Steak after a tragic fire in the barn where he was kept.

My school mate Ugh Ugh, Junior, became enraptured with watching the antics of Dirt when a new auroc wandered into his mud and straw barn. (Actually it was a one room barn that Ugh Ugh, Junior, and his entire family and all their assorted livestock shared. It was quite a mansion in its day!) This lovely creature had different hangy-down parts, and Dirt acted very strangely when the new auroc nuzzled up to him.

Eventually Ugh Ugh built up his courage and walked over and grabbed the second auroc (whom he named Blue Bell, by the way. . .a really strange name) to examine the new appendages. Blue Bell gave a snort and jerked around and Ugh Ugh held on for dear life. With his free hand he grabbed a clay bucket with the intention of either ending Blue Bell's life with quick smack to the head, or to hide his own head in to keep it from being kicked across the barn. The true intention is lost to history. But in an instant strange white (we thougth it was the same thing that came out of Dirt when Ugh Ugh pulled on his parts, but we were not sure) juice squirted out and splashed into the bucket. Ugh Ugh did not notice this and proceeded to put the bucket over his head. Actually the bucket was on the ground and Ugh Ugh's head bounced into it with a sickening kronk. He let go Blue Bell and sat up with the bucket on his head. We lifted it off and Ugh Ugh licked the liquid from his face. Smiling he immediately announced he had a replacement for solitare Thunk, the game where you knocked heads with the person next to you. The solitare version was no where near as popular as the multiplayer version, especially the one in the mud. This was a game made even better with the mud.

This new solitare Thunk became immensely popular, but its popularity realy took off once cold weather came about. But more on that at another time.

Think about how many tries is took to create a light bulb - thousands! and how many tries it took to create a computer - tons! etc...

All those poor animals, and that poor guy that went around squeezing before he stumbled across the cow.

And what about Clamato Juice?
I mean who ever looked at a clam and a tomato and said "Hmm, let's put this in a blender!"?
