He has changed a lot lately. The first clue I found is what appears to be a needle mark. Ive seen a few of these marks. He has extreme mood swings, and violent tendencies. He disapears for hours. He works nights, so when he gets home, Im sleeping, so I don't notice any real physical signs. He is losing weight, but he says he always loses weight after winter. His hands and feet are always cold and clammy, but I don't know if that means anything. I know he drinks at work, and that one of his coworkers always high. Im really worried.

He hasn't been paying his mom the money he owes her, but the money is going somewhere. How do I confront him?

I'm not there but from what you describe it sure sounds like it.

You say needle marks, there is nothing else it could be?

Then I think you have your answer.

PS. If he is shooting up, your life is in danger. It's one of the leading causes of the spread of none air born viruses.

Besides the fact that he may be using drugs, having a boyfriend who disappears for periods of time, has extreme mood swings and violent tendencies doesn't really seem like the best situation. If you really love him and leaving him is not an option, I would tell him that you are changing birth control and ask him to wear condoms (he doesn't have to know its because you're worried about disease from drugs). This could give you some time to assess the situation. Is he generally open to suggestion or if you tell him something does he get defensive? Maybe try to organize time to spend together doing things that he finds fun. Maybe go see a sports event or get some friends together to go to the park. Of course, you could just ask him and judge his reaction. Its all up to how committed you are and if he really is worth your committment. If he's not, just leave him now, tell him why you're leaving him and move on.

It sounds like he might be. Of course there could be other explanations for all except the needle marks but then I guess it could be something that just looks like a needle mark. I have seen at home drug tests that you can buy at pharmacies. You might want to get one when he appears to be high and if he refuses to take it then you will have your answer.

WoW. I'm not sure... but if I were you I would be concerned as well. I think you should ask him..... he could be under stress at work, or something else. It seems a bit extreme for someone who does not do drugs to beginng with a drug that has to be injected with a needle... seems he would start with something less invasive...

Has he been watching American Idol? Strangely enough, people addicted to this show exhibit the same signs. How many clues do you need? Connect the dots.

It sounds like it and the needle mark is an obvious giveaway. I'd watch him closely and I hate to say it, but you might want to snoop thru his stuff.

my ex husband was the same way. he started acting really weird and withdrawn. he also began to lose weight because he wasn't eating much. keep an eye out on his spending habits because that might be a clue too.
