Evolution has and is occuring at this present moment. However, this is an act of God whom I believe set everything in motion. Even if you believe in the big bang theory, something had to create the universe that was already there. I am a Christian, but also someone with rational thought. For those who believe in the whole Adam and Eve story, ask yourself, why God could not have made us and all of the other animals evolve from something in the past? God can do anything he wants. I also believe that the story of creation in the Bible is proof of evolution. It is just written in a way that people of that time had an easier understanding of it. When God speaks of the different days and what was created, how do we know what a day is to God? One day could be a billion years. The calendar that we use now wasn't even invented until the medieval ages. Ask yourself, if Jesus the son told parables to his followers, why couldn't God the father do the same?

Everything that God has created has evolved into something even better. We don't come from "monkeys" but the people we used to be are not as sophisticated as the people we are now. Take the tiger for instance. You can't say evolution is a lie and ignore the facts. There used to be another kind of tiger called the saber-toothed tiger. The tiger we see today doesn't have as big of teeth as the saber-tooth did. I realize this is an ongoing debate but I think everyone should consider the facts before saying one way or the other. God is real and evolution is true. God created everything to work that way.

Have you ever thought that evolution was an act of God? The Bible says that God took material from the earth, He had already created, and turned it into humans. Well, couldn't this material be one of the animals he had already created? Sure the Bible says earth, but that's where the animals came from, gradually. All this miracle of evolution of different species is definitely an act of God, in fact the most wonderful one! So I don't think the two theories are contradictory, one is symbolic and the other is scientific, but if you think about it, they say the same think: first earth, then life (animals), and then humans coming from the previous material, which was God's work anyway!

Simple...God. In the beginning the was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He created all things. Besides this it is a lot easier to belive we were createds by a supreme being rather than somehow over millions of years we crawled from some soup. Where did that come from? Who put it there. Yeah after millions of years we evolved Sure. if the scientists are right and the universe is in a constant state of decay then how did we evolve into a higher being when were shouldbe regressing? Something doesn't sound right does it?

It's an act of God. If it's an evolution then who and how would that evolution start. Evolution is like something that has no intelligence but acts intelligently. So there must be someone with the most superior of intelligence that do all of this. You will always arrive to the assumption that there is someone without any origin that started it all and he is God.

Mr. P knows what he is talking about.
Evolution was an act of God!
Now for my more specific and personal beliefs:
I believe that at the begginning of the universe, God set things in motion according to what he wanted. He intervenes where necessary to keep things on the right track. It goes deeper than that, but that is the summary.
Evolution was set in motion in order to make a species that was capable of being the "dominant life form" on Earth. What if God was not really sure off the top of his head what a dominant species would be like? So he sets up this lovely system of trial-and-error that runs itself and requires little maitenance (something tells me that the dinosaurs were an exception. If I saw that that was where evolution was headed, I would have tried to shrink things down a bit too). So eventually, with very little work on his part after designing his system, God gets the end result of a species capable of survival and sutiable for "intelligence." Then the rest goes from there! And I suppose, why dismantle such a lovely system when we might get something cool out of it eventually? And so evolution still goes on.
The way I see it, I think we should all stop and give God a round of applause for being so clever and making such perfectly-balanced ecosystems for evolution to work in.

if you believe in God, then typically you should believe that God created the world.
evolution didn't create the world...evolution sculpts life into more efficient species, adapting them to suit their environment-lifestyle.
If you're a non-believer then you probably believe that sciencifically measureable forces eventually enables a large ball of dust and gas to collapse and eventually form various planets and stars, including the star and planets in our own solar system.
Its my personal belief that the latter is mostly correct, what created the defining moments when life first clicked "on" as it were is debatable whether it was a natural occurence or and act of god. And personally if it was the act of some supreme being I think he's had nothing to do with us since...the bible is essentially a collection of ficticious parables,, designed and evolved through the last few thousand years to help bring understanding to the ignorant, and help guide those whose morals require temperance.

I believe the world was created by God. There can't be any evolution without having the people &/or animals to evolve from.

Did evolution happen - yes... but I personally feel that God created evolution... Many Creationist believe the Bible literally - well, the Bible was written and translated by man. Who is to say that the Bible's Day 1 was not in reality thousands of years - it's not like someone was standing there with a watch..

actually science and religion are very connected. Some men don't see it but it is somewhat clear. It is even said that if science will reach its peak it will be discovered that it is connected to religion...
samples that are kinda obvious.
1 in the creation. light was created first.. in science, there was this big bang or an explotion( essentially light)
2. the first to be created were the beasts or animals... before man... science say that there was evolution essentially animals before man.....
and maybe there are more but are still yet to be discovered.. some parts of the bible specially the parts that explained the creation are banned and some were lost.. so.. we would never really know the truth ...however in my opinion the world was created by God and it is well explained by science
