Apparently it doesn't matter what a person considers someone to be. It's too bad that gay can't mean both homosexual and bisexual, but it doesn't. I always thought of myself as gay, even though I like both sexes, but homosexuals don't think of me as gay so I can't call myself that. I had hoped that "gay" would come to mean anyone who wasn't 100% straight, but that was too much to hope for I guess. I think we need a word like that, but what would it be? Everyone wants their own word! :)

Short form: no.

Long form: Kinsey researched issues surrounding this, and that's where he discovered that fairly few people are actually completely straight (that is, no interest at *all* in the opposite sex, and even if so it doesn't mean you want to sleep with them). Conversely, there are fairly few people who are strictly gay. Most people fell into a gray area somewhere in between.

This indirectly substantiates Jeremy's supposition, but not in the way he intends. Yes, people tend - at least statistically - to prefer one sex over the other, but that only shows your preference. Few people exactly fall in the middle, but the edges aren't as populated as one might think.

As a potential corollary to Jeremy's theory, I suppose if it's true that no one is bisexual, then also no one is gay or straight either. Now *that* is an interesting (if not original) thought.

Nope. Because then, if someone aksed me "Hey, so that guy over there is gay?" would be pretty ticked at me when they saw him with a girl.

You understand? Bisexuals aren't gay because they like the opposite sex, as well as the same sex.

Well, if we get involved with members of the same gender or come out, we get the same prejudice as gays, for the same reason. My lesbian wife and I are both affected by laws against same-sex marriage.

No.

Bi sexual means they are capable of forming and having realtionships with men and women.

Gay means they are capable of forming and having realtionships with same sex partners only.

See the difference?
