I don't know how much it will be but imagine it will be $2000 or more.

I've only had one problem so far-with the power steering-that the current warranty covered to repair.

YES buy the warranty..... if you only need it for one major engine or transmission repair it was a very safe gamble .... FOR me it was the best to have the warranty on an executive re-sale Z3 and when I had to replace the power steering pump and the water pump both went out at the same hot summer and sweltering heat moment and stranded me and the wife ------ as well the car go towed into the dealership for about 50 freeway miles............. well it could go on and on --- please buy yourself and da Beemer the warranty................BMW will stand behind their after-market warranty (( do not buy anything but the BMW CERTIFIED ))...

if you bought a used car from a dealer, the warranty should have been longer, but you probably bought it from the previous owner which is why the warranty expires soon. I have heard of some problems with bmws, where some break easily, while others are reliable. personally id like to think they are reliable. depending on how long the extended warranty is, and the condition of the car right now, i think it is worth the extra money for the extra peace of mind.

there is a reason car companies want you to buy an extended warranty. they cost a pretty penny and they do not cover all the things that a factory warranty does. also there are several ways to void an extended warranty and they just are not worth it. I mean think about it if the manufacture thought they might lose money on a extended warranty then would they sell it?
i mean it is there because they make money off of it therefore leading most to the conclusion that the car is not going to break down within the warranty, because that would cause a company to losse money and companies do not want to lose money, plus for the most part BMW are good cars. save the money for a down payment on your next vehicle.
