Are you using a replacement video cable, or a video extension cable?

If you are you may be getting reflections of the signal in the cable which will cause ghosting of the image - window edges and text have one or more ghost images slightly to the right of the real image.

Make sure you are using quality cables and that the connectors are secured well.

Click on:

Startbar -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> Effects

Uncheck "show shadows under menus"

If it's not as simple as that...

Download the latest drivers for your graphics card (double checking you have the right ones)

Reboot

Install new drivers

See if that works :o)
