What things did Stalin do that contriduted to the fall of the Sovie Union?

He was long gone by the time the Soviet Union ended, however the basic principles he put into place such as collective farming, over spending on the military and the total brutality were principles that the following leaders did not change and eventually they all led to the fall.

He was in power for nearly 25 years. The Soviet Union didn't really start to fall apart till the 80s, thirty years after Stalin's death in 1953. How can he be considered part of its fall? Other than the general problems of communism, isolation and central control.
