Depends on which one you talk about probably.
I would say most are still very good, they have a moral or teach a lesson to the child who listens. Unfortunately today, many children who are of that age are already affected by the fast paced techno-world and story about dragons, etc may be lost on them. The little girl may dream of being a princess but does not get the underlaying story.
I think they all have a place today still but need further explanation today beyond "now, wasn't that a nice story?".

Many of the Mother Goose fairy tales are actually based in politics. And the Grimm stories are morality tales whose messages are pretty timeless. So I'd say yes, they're still pretty relevant.

Fairy tales usually gives hope, dreams, cultural expectations (politics) and even morals (in the outcome). They are the dreams of all children, no I believe that fairy tales will go on forever. Same as fables and cultural tales. Without fairy tales and dreams, life would be boring.
