what are some sensible plans for taking away guns...Where should they go afterwards?

Your question is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as a sensible way to take guns from law abiding citizens. It doesn't make sense.

Gun control=hitting the target center mass

Guns should not be taken away. The Constitution grants citizens the right to own guns. More needs to be done to keep them out of the hands of wackos and violent felons, but the basic right to own guns should never be tampered with. I am a liberal Democrat by the way.

Anyone who publicly displays a gun should have it removed to a storage locker where they'll have to sign-in with a clerk to retrieve it. (Those who don't display guns can be presumed to not have them until some miscreant finds out the hard way that they really do.)

They shouldnt take any guns away from registered owners. If they outlawed guns, only the outlaws would own them. We have the right to bare (SP?) arms!
