I went to the grocery store with my 5 month old today. I came up to my car and put my daughter in before putting in the groceries. As I was closing her door, a man in the car next to me got out and said, "You have a baby." NO sh--.
He got in his back seat and pulled out a dirty teddy bear and gave it to me.

What I did: I said thank you, threw the groceries in the car, got in and locked the door, and came home and threw it away.

What would you do?

I think the man was trying to do a nice thing, yeah so the teddy bear was dirty, it could've been washed. I understand your fear in this day and age, but he sounds like a harmless guy,I am glad you accepted it and disposed of it later, or you may have jaded his hope in people, or attempts to show kindness

I'd say, "I'm sorry my religion doesn't allow my child to play with Teddy Bears. It's forbidden!"

same thing you did...Ewwww...dirty teddy bears.
why do people have to do stuff like that? even if they aren't malicious and just trying to be nice, don't they know it's creepy these days?

Personally, I would have said, "No thank you."

But you were nice.
