there are three possibilities in this order of probability:
1) the fan relay isn't working. this relay is located in the relay/fuse box on the passenger side rear of the engine compartment. to check the relay, turn the air conditioner on; the fan for the radiator should come on. if it doesn't then the relay is bad.
2) the temperature switch for the fan is bad. this is the engine mounted switch that turns the fan on and off depending on engine temperature. it is not tied into the temperature gauge or anything else.
3) the fan motor is seized. you can usually run 12V to the motor and see if it runs. If it doesn't then the motor is bad. if it does then the temperature switch is bad.

the fan is only used to cool the radiator when the car is going less than 30 mph or if it is at stops. if the car is overheating when driving at highway speeds the fan is not the only problem. If the temperature runs to hot when you slow down or when you are at a stop then the fan is the problem

hope that helps

First and foremost, be sure that the cooling system is completely full with coolant
try to check the fuse ; is located in the fuse box.
The name of that fuse is: radiator fan.
Be sure that the fan connector is fully inserted into fan motor.
Be sure that the connector of the thermo switch is fully inserted into switch.
Try to test the integrity of radiator fan relay by turning the AC" on"
Don't get confuse between the AC condenser fan and the radiator fan.
In order to check the radiator fan if it's at fault- Try to feed directly the fan motor with 12 dc volt source.( when you do that bypass feeding to the fan motor some safety major must be taken in order to avoid sever injury.)
If at this point the fan kicks on then you have to check the fan radiator circuit( Relay, harness, thermo time switch. the ground.and the continuity between different point.
This problem of the fan is easy to be dealt with.
However, if you decided to let any person to fix this problem.
Be aware that they don 't bay pass the circuit fan trough other circuit which controlled by the ignition system.
At that point the fan will continue operating as long the ignition switch is turned on.
I'm sure you want an permanent solution not a deceptive one.
