Yep, I got the job I have now, as well as the last two jobs, by applying online. Where I work, you can ONLY apply online...we don't accept paper resumes at this point.
It's safe, as long as you're working with a reputable site...Either the employer's website directly, or someone like Monster, who has plenty of security features.
No, it doesn't make you look lazy...it makes you look savvy, really. Virtually every job these days will involve the use of computers, so submitting electronically is a good sign that you have one of the basic skills down already.
Make sure that your resume is grammatically correct, and with no typos...And have a good cover letter ready to attach, as well. If you have all of your ducks in a row before you start, you'll have better luck getting good attention from employers.

Yes I have.
I feel, as long at the little lock shows up which means the site is secure that it is safe. All the big job boards are "secure".
I don't think it makes you look lazy - but you have to apply to a LOT of positions online before you are likely to hear anything. But, sometimes, that's the ONLY way to apply.
The biggest downside to applying online is that a LOT of other people are doing it also - it is hard to stand out - you really have to show how you match the position.
Best of luck!

That is how you apply for almost any job these days. It is actually the preferred way to receive applications anymore. It does not look lazy if you take your time with the online application and include a resume with it. Just make sure to spell check and have excellent grammar/punctuation. You would be amazed at how much weight is placed on the small details.

I certainly have! I've never faced a problem with it in terms of security issues. It doesn't make you lazy, but rather computer literate, which is something that more and more employers are looking for these days! Also by applying online, they can weed out people easier and get applications faster and easier.

Yes, I have applied on-line for jobs at companies that ask you to apply on line via their company web site. I have also applied to a company via Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, and through the local classified section of the newspaper. When a company asks you to apply via e-mail then that is the form that they would like it to be.
No, it's not lazy, it's just a lot more convenient for those of us in H.R. who have to sort through all the resumes to see who we want to interview for the positions we have open.

No, it is not lazy. I have applied on-line several times but they were not successful.
If the company is reputable, it will be safe.

yeah, some people prefer it, but, it takes longer for the local manager to get your info. do it and then give the local manager a call a little later to confirm that they have your info
