Your child's pediatrician will advise you based on your individual child's development and weight gain. They will also advise you on which foods to introduce first and how to space out the "new" foods to enable you to identify any food allergies that may appear.

The average recommendation is 4 months for formula fed babies, 6 months for breast fed babies.

It all depends on the baby. They say no earlier then 4 months but they recommend to wait until the baby is 6 months old. Some babies are ready earlier and are big eaters.
babies have this reflex where they will push things out of their mouths with their tongues, if they are still doing this then they are not ready for food yet. They recommend starting with rice cereal, mixed really thin. I would stick with that until the baby gets the hang of food.

Usually you start rice cereal first, mixed with breastmilk or formula. You can try that around 4-5 months. If your baby is breastfed, she doesn't need anything for at least 6 months and you can wait longer than that as long as your baby is gaining weight properly.

You generally know when a baby is ready to start solids when they can sit up and start grasping things. They will show an interest when you are eating or drinking.

i would say 5-6 although my baby starting eating baby food at 5 months. i would recommend trying baby rice cereal first not a lot just a small amount, give your baby rice cereal for a few days or weeks and if the baby seems to have no trouble with that then try the baby food.

If you are breastfeeding, your baby doesn't need any other foods until 6-9 months. At that point, start offering rice cereal mixed with breastmilk or formula first. Then begin introducing other foods one at a time.

I started giving my daughter veggies at 6 months old, then went to meats at 8 months old, and fruits at 10 months old. I wanted her to learn to like the harder stuff first...and it worked.

Good luck!

6 months. gradually start on cereal, the add veggies and later fruits and meats. give one new food at a time to detect any allergic reactions. You can start juice mixed with water at 6 months as well. this is basically just "practice" eating and learning to like the foods. They probably wont like those peas at first but offer them for 2-3 days in a row, 2-3 bites at a time she will probably like them, if not, wait a couple weeks and try again. most will like just about all foods if given this way.
I strongly disagree with one of your answers that she put her child on whole milk at 6 months of age. I was babysitting a child whose mother was wanting to do this with her child at 9 months. I was not comfortable giving her this so I asked around, my pediatrician, a few pediatric nurses and friends in this field. they were shocked and advised me not to even babysit this child anymore b/c formula or breast milk (she had formula) has vitamins and nutrients that are needed for their development and their growth. It is so important. Their nutrition the first 2 years of their life really sets up how they will eat and their nutrition for the rest of their life. make sure it very healthy.
good luck and congratulations

at 6 months start cereal.
at 7 months start veggies
at 8 months start fruits
at 9 months start meats
her formula or breast milk is the main source of nutrition for the first year. once she starts solids make sure she is still getting at least 24 oz of her milk every day or back off the solids. this is vital to her growth and development
your pediatrician will give you all the info at her 6 months checkup.
good luck and congrats on the new baby!

6 months is best, some start at 4. No earlier then 4 because there arent enough digestive enzymes to break the food down which can result in tummy aches and constipation, and other problems in severe cases. its best to ask your doc because everyone has a different oppinion of when is bast. really its up to your baby. my doc said 6 months and thats what ive read so thats what im goin by.
