I definately agree.....we have been so jammed with doing anything and everything that we don't know how to listen or just be in silence. Very good observation!

You sort of have two questions going on there. Yes, I do think it's a lost art for people to actually listen to what others are saying. Most people are too wrapped up in themselves to really care about what someone else is thinking or feeling. I have a friend who lives in Texas, and he's going crazy living at home, taking care of his elderly mother, or watching her, (he's retired) and he has a ranch out in the land they own that's really far away from everything and everyone. He's always telling me that he wants some peace and quiet, and that he's going to move out to the ranch. (hasn't done it yet, but I would if I was him!) Yes, total silence can be a curse and a blessing. Sometimes when I'm depressed or bored, silence closes in around me. But when I'm really into a good book, I love the silence, so I can concentrate on my book. Good questions to ponder. Good job.

Definitely, it's peaceful to have all the electronics and lights off for a bit and just relax.
Also, people suck at listening these days. Even my family members annoy me with their cutting me off and not being patient enough to listen to a complete answer. Some things aren't so easily answered with one word headlines. It sometimes takes more than one sentence to explain things. I think I lose points on here sometimes for my answers being too long lol. Oh well.

Silence is sometimes too loud....but it's nice once in a while. It also depends on who's talking. â¥â¥

Well, I do feel it's almost lost. But, there are a few people out there who still practice it. Listening could not be totally dead otherwise we wouldn't have counselors.

I don't think it's a lost art to listen to what people say...I think it's a lost art to hear what people mean.

yes because people are so opinionated, and there's always someone who questions and tries to catch you out.
People should just embrace people's opinion's with open arms and just listen.
