....as some lind of logical proof we could not do it in 1969.

You have to look at history before making a judgement that we could not go to the moon in 1969. Rocket technology came out of Germany in 1944 when they already had missile rockets - the V2s that they launched on London.

Germany's rocket man, Von Braun, went to USA after WWII and was instrumental in creating America's space program.

So, like so many other things that came out of WWII (radar is another thing), the USA had the rocket technology even before 1950. It took massive amounts of money to launch the Apollo missions, and we just do not have it now - or rather, the tax payers are not willing to fund such a venture.

The argument that how come we did it then, but haven't since also falls down with the demise of the supersonic airliner Concorde. It was 1960's technology (note that the jet engine was also invented in WWII) and Concorde is no more - scrapped. And we do not have another supersonic airliner.

Concorde used to fly at over Mach 2 - we do not have an airliner that can exceed Mach 1.

Concorde, like Apollo, was too expensive. We have mass transport aircraft - Jumbo jets instead, and for space, the USA and Russians repeatedly send men and women to the space station.

Those are much cheaper options.

Because they just don't want to believe that it's possible, I guess.

It is not an unreasonable position to take. It is wrong in this case, because we really did go to the Moon. But in general, science dismisses anything that can't be duplicated, so some people feel justified in claiming the missions were faked because they have not been duplicated. That is a perfectly scientific argument to make. It will go away when we eventually do go back, except for the fringe groups who say things like humans couldn't have built the Pyramids so they must be alien artifacts. Crazy people like that will always be around. Of course there is so much historical documentation that IMO no sane person who has taken the trouble to research it could doubt, but most of the people have not taken that trouble. They simply listen to a few flat Earth society people or whatever and don't check the facts themselves.

The race is over, for now. With the amount of money we are spending in trying to modify the rest of the world to our type of democracy, a trip to the moon is at the bottom of the list of the present government.

You are starting a debate you won't want to finish here !!!
If it was so easy to get to the moon and we now have all of these amazing Satelittles and telescopes how come they won't turn one of these and take a picture of all the Spacecrafts and lunar Rovers that are "On" the Moon and how come in the Pictures of the Landing if you look at the Legs of the Lander there isn't a spec of Dust on the legs where 10,000 pounds of thrust supposidly landed.......

If you believe we landed on the Moon Your as clueless
as most Americans and will believe everything you here on the News and never look at the Facts .
However I'm done trying to tell people the facts and you can go see for yourself

We have been to the moon so many times that there's nothing left for us to do there, so its not cost effective to go back. We tested the soil, the air, the technology, etc. When we have a reason, maybe we will go back.

Well I don't think they understand why we have not gone back. there is nothing there. And there is no good way to land a space shuttle on the moon.

Why are there so many questons about landing on the moon now?
