Well... Here in Canada they often put 'gross' pictures on cigarette packages.. (like black lungs, etc).. to show people what can happen .. But I don't know that I have ever heard of anyone caring about it. The people that were smokers anyway just go ahead and buy them.. Oddly enough, I've heard of people that collect the different packs like people collect cards, etc.. Trying to collect all the different pictures, etc.

I personally am a non-smoker, but I even find those kind of ads on the packages seem 'silly'. I do guess that SOME of the tv ads might work a little bit.. Because there are some out there that have quite an emotional pull to them.. and I know that can affect people of course.

Over-all though.. I just don't know. I believe that smoking is done less than it was in the past.. But I would tend to think that was more based on things that happend and facts that people were shown, etc.. not just ads.

I have seen some very graphic anti-smoking ads, and some very convincing ones...unfortunatly I still smoke on and off. I am 31, so not in your age range that you stated, but have smoked on and off since I was 10.
I know it is bad and everything, in yet I still do it. Much like people drink, do drugs, eat or overdo pop and sweets.
I do hope that those ads work and that more teenagers will say no to smoking.

They don't seem to. The ones I've seen are strictly scare tactic type ads, not very informative.

No I only see people who smoke laugh when they see them.

Nope. It would be more useful to have the stores stop carrying them.
