I found this freaky looking spider in my basement in augusta, maine. Anyone know what this is? I looked around online but couldn’t find an answer.

Also its dead. It has been dead for a couple of years, that’s what my landlord said.

Thanks a lot

Luv ya, but I am not even going to look.

Hate spiders, but my zoology degree says that a dichotomous key can help.

I got lots of hits for "dichotomus key spiders" I misspelled on the search. Just answer the questions on a key and it will lead to a name.

FYI, you may have to count spikes on leg parts, Yuk

I looked an the picture looked like it was really dried out.

Went on a camping trip with a lot of zoo students in Oklahoma and a really big spider crawled out of some girl's tent. As we were taking them down in the morning. Ouch, All night with a big hairy one. Tarantula sized big.

Steven Y have been given it ideal, this is a species of mouse spider. a number of them could have an rather painful chew, yet do no longer require scientific interest. additionally they, as you could tell by employing the photographs, have super and useful fangs. they have been popular to pierce boots.

You can't ID it easily. The spider has been there so long it has crystalline deposits encrusted all over it's body. I suppose if you take off the deposits you could ID it.
