Like the Bearded Lady and stuff like that. Anyone else have actual names or a website to find pictures and names? Thanks so much.

Joseph Merrick was better know as "the elephant man", he was horribly disfigured, frightening to look at and was cruley shunned by the public. he lived in the late 1800s. He was originally beleived to have had neurofibromatosis but genetic research in the 90's revealed he actually had "proteus syndrome" which is an incredibly rare condition and part of the pten harmatoma syndrome diseases that not many people know about. He worked in the freak shows for a few years until a kind doctor took him in. the link has pictures and a movie was made about him too.

They were archetypes... not single individual people... many people filled the roles, based on their skills and/or deformities
