I'm selling one of my bikes and came up with the brilliant(?) idea of filming it and including a link to the video in my ads.

Because I'm running an aftermarket exhaust, I thought it would be nice for potential buyers to be able to HEAR it in addition to seeing it.

What do you think of that idea? If you were looking for a particular type of bike and found an ad like that, would it be helpful to you?

I've done it on ebay listings for older models where I wanted to prove how well they ran.

The downside? Vehicle sound doesn't really come across very well on most video cameras, and then it is garbled a bit more when you compress it for use online.

So, the purr may not sound as sweet to potential buyers as it does in real life, but it'll still definitely help get your selling points across!

Photobucket has a great hosting service that plays well with most of the online auctions.

There are a few dealers on eBay that do this. It's a great idea! They walk around the bike when it's running with the video camera, rev it up, etc. You can post the video on line somewhere, then put your link in the sales ad.

Yeha ive seen this idea before and its a great one. The only thing is sound quality. try to get the best quality soud that you can maybe even put a mic on the tip or something, cuz my RC with carbon fiber exhaust is one the meanest sounding sport bike out there but on videos it sounds tame.

good idea. Include a couple of pictures anyway, just in case there's some fossils like me with weak computers and bad internet connections. DLing a video would take ages, and some computers don't support video files.

It's a unique idea. I think it'll work well.
I know I'd at least play it a couple of times even if I wasn't interested in the bike.
