My need to remain compassionate, sympathetic and empathetic to all people and living creatures!
However, in Buddhist practice, there is also known as a reaction called Fools' compassion. That is saying something alike, STOP KNOCKING YOUR HEAD ON THE WALL to make a difference, when trying to be of help, by employing the three virtues mentioned at the top of the answer.
Then, it may be time to cease and desist if nothing seems to arrive at changes toward improvement.
Aside that, being there for living creatures is the most significantly felt concern of mine, even though at times the weight of its' responsibility becomes an almost insurmountable burden.
