I'm surprised that your doctor didn't give you one, generally if they think you need one, they'll give it to you.Try calling your doctor to see if they have any available,if not,go to the hospital and explain the situation. If you can't get a hold of one either of those ways, here's a couple of websites that you can try:

I am currently in a walking boot for a sprained ankle, and my doctor gave me the DonJoy Walkabout. It's pretty good I guess.I mean,it's comfortable, provides support,is lightweight (only like 2 pounds, and they can be even heavier),and has a pretty low profile (although a higher one than regular shoes).

You'll just want to get a regular one (I don't know whether you want a high or low top,my doctor gave me a high top),not a ROM (range of motion) one because you'll just have it set at 90 degrees anyway, and those are more expensive. There is no need for air chambers either, but they can be comfortable if you want them.

Hope that helps!

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

your assume to positioned on the forged for waaay longer than seventy two hours or regardless of.If something your forcing it to heal. Like the variety you mentioned you walked around on it with the identifying to purchase cart? this is too quickly and in accordance to ur indicators it sounds like a verry undesirable sprain which will take ALOT of time to heal. loosen up and positioned on that solid for much extra that 40 8 hours. a pair of days or even weeks at maximum suitable. by making use of walking around and attempting to stand on this is only aggravating it and making it lots worse. positioned the forged on and use cruches so which you will no longer ought to stand on it and you could have the cruches for help. circumvent putting any style of stress on it what-so-ever because of the fact in case you do it only delays the therapeutic time.

Normally the hospital or Dr.'s Office will supply this for you. I would definitely ask. Otherwise check your phone book or internet for a durable medical equipment supply store in your area. The DME store can also usually bill to insurance carriers.

The doctor didn't have one??? That's odd. You might try a medical supply place. Or, sometimes, places like Walgreens has those kinds of things.

I agree with everyone else, it's really odd that he didn't give you one. I torn my achilles tendon last year and went through several different braces and casts, they all were given to me by the doctor. Good luck!
