Boy... one question can really bring out the "Hell" in people...
And Yankee fans, when you say "You don't need/want our respect" just proves that you people should go to hell and get out of the Baseball Nation. No one wants anyone who acts like you people.
I feel sorry that the Yankees have to play for such arrogant and rude fans.
I feel sorry that I appreciate the Yankees but not there fans.
I feel sorry that people like you HAVE to act this way.
I feel sorry that you won't accept the nice things we say.
I feel sorry that you don't know any other player outside of the Yankee team.
I also feel sorry that god made you people so rude (And of course not ALL of you are)
And I also feel sorry that you "Booed" A-Rod last year for doing so bad, and don't "Boo" Jeter this year for making errors.
And I feel sorry that A-Rod plays for a team where his teammates blame him for every single loss.
But what I feel sorry most... is the fact that people hate you because you always spit at other peoples teams.
And what's with all the Thumbs Down people? Grow up!

Wow I like how everyone is like "the yankee fans are so mean and arrogant and they make fun of everyone!"
What are you doing? Are you not making fun of yankees fans right there?
Also, the whole 60% are bandwagon fans thing. Such BS. The yankee fans are always yelled at and given s***, you have to really love them to put up with all the people who just want to get a rise out of you.
The yankee fans are some of the best fans in the world.
The yankees are the best franchise in baseball history.
If you look at the facts there is no way you can deny it!
I don't hate all the other fans or baseball teams. I am a yankees fan but that doesn't mean I hate every other team that takes the field.
I think its time that some people stop generalizing. Just because you have met a few bad Yankees fans doens't mean they all are.
I have met a few fans of other teams that are pretty bad.

So many people really are bandwagon. When the Yanks won the world series from 1998 to 2000 the amount of Yankee fans was amazing. I do not know as many people who are still fans today. What that tells me is that you do not need $200+ million to get a winning ball club that hasn't won since the payroll got that high. Everyone on the Yankees has had a few great seasons, the problem is that they have not had them all at the same time. People think that since all these "great players" are on one team, that it is now their favorite team. I am definitely not a Yankee fan. Growing up in Cincinnati and living in Colorado, I root for the Reds and Rockies. They have combined made it to the playoffs twice since 1995. Oh well. I still cheer them on. That is what a true fan should be. Root for a team whether they are having a good year or not. Not because they won world series championships a lot at one point. Have faith people.

Because even though most of them actually DO love the Yankees, some people just think it's cool to be a Yankees fan. I appreciate a good franchise when I see it, and the Yankees are by far the greatest baseball franchise, but some of the fans are complete douchebags. I am a big A-Rod fan, but I don't particularly root for the team as a whole, but if you let it slip to a Yankees fan, they go nuts and go into a long speech on why the Yankees are the ONLY team you can like.
Oh, and if it wasn't for A-Rod, the Yankees would be worse than the Phillies this year? Anyone want to say the are the best team this year? Becasue their pitching is complete garbage.

I think its because they think there the best with 26 world series. I agree with your statement about them being bandwagon people, because the yankees have won so many times. I am a HUGE red sox fan, but i respect the yankees, and i have no doubt that they are a great team. But also, not all yankee fans are like that just most. And to chivadecorazon, people do that in ANY rivalry. I've been to a red sox game and seen yankee fans their just to boo the red sox. It happens with every1 so just dont blame the red sox.

The truth is, we (Yankee fans) had become so accustomed to the team doing so well that we have forgotten what good sportsmanship is. I am constantly dismayed by the treatment Yankee fans give a) other teams who go into the Bronx and mostly b) our own players & manager.
I remember the days of 60 & 70 win seasons with no character managers and without the most gifted day in/day out position player of my lifetime (who these idiot fans are about to chase out of town)
Believe it or not, I think most Yankee fans are getting a raw deal because of the few loud jerkoffs that make their voices heard via the talk radio shows & other media who won't let the "dead horse lie" on unimportant issues; and most of us are embarrased by them...at least, I am.
The Sox still suck, though! :)

Ya, I am going ot have to agree, the reason I hate the Yankees is because of their fans. I have been to a number of games against the Yankees and their fans, being guests at my teams park acted like they owned he place, acted like they should be treated special, and were extremely rude and condescending. Treat others with respect and you will get treated with respect. I actually saw a Yankee fan walking by someone, they accidently bumped, pure accident both ways, and the Yankees fan(in a Jeter jersey) threw his beer in the guys face and ended up also soaking an innocent little kid and an older gentlemen, this wasnt the only time I have seen stuff like this, I have been to a number of games against the Yankees and at least 4-5 times a game I see stuff like this from Yankee fans. Plus, just look at the way they act on these boards, ESPN, and other message boards.

Yankees fans are some of the worst in baseball. They are uneducated about the game in general. They don't know players on other teams and are ignorant about their own team's abilities.
Their pitching is horrible this year. From their starters all the way down to the aging Rivera. However, you have to listen to 100 bandwagon mouthbreathers from NYC say "Yankees are the best!" before you hear one say "We may have a great lineup but our rotation is suspect."
Good fans know their team inside out...strengths and weaknesses. They know their opponents inside out as well and they have a good knowledge of the rest of the league. Ask a Yankee fan, "Who lead the league in hits last year?" and they will probably say "um....Bernie Williams?"

This is all about jealously and nothing more. I've been a Yankee fan all of my life. I respect the game and the fans you love the game. To throw a blanket over ever person who is a Yankee fan is unfair. People hate the Yankees and their fans because they root for teams who have not had the same success. Instead of being hateful toward the Yankees and the fans, be upset with the ownership of the teams others root for. Be upset with them for not committing to winning as the Yankees have over the last 100 years.
I respect any true fan of the game no matter what team they root for but to make the statement you have tells me that you don't really understand what it truly is to be a baseball fan.

i agree, especially since in live in New York. Yankees fans are bandwagon followers by far in the majority and these are the ones are the most nasty and rude. they start up fights with my team (Mets) just because they got some inferiority complex.
Meanwhile, to be a true fan, you appreciate the sport and if one of your states teams are doing well, you support them regardless.
Yankees fans, for the most part, are inconsiderate sh!t heads who follow the team just because they are popular.
I'm sticking with the Mets, they may not win every year, but they never sell themselves out and keep baseball about the sport, not the money
