After giving 10% to charity, I would invest it.

A 10% return adjusted for inflation would let me retire at the age of 35 and not lose any purchasing power.

Dear Kimberly,
I'd buy some land and a few forclosed houses
that way I could fix the houses up and lease
them..as far as the land...I could hold it until I
got a good developer.

I'd take some college courses, because a
higher education can lead to higher money.

I'd make some investments, so my retirement
would be a little easier.

i'd put a little money in a few programs that are
tax deductible...that way I would get more cash
from Uncle Sam come Tax Season.

I'd open up something Offshore (Corporation)
to put some of my assets under (houses, land,)
so it would be difficult to tax.

Hope I Gave you some great ideas

Assuming it's against the rules of the game to invest it, I would donate almost all of it to my favorite charities and give a large portion to my family (even if they had to abide by the "spend in one day" rule as well). With the rest (even if just 10,000, which is only 1%, it's still more than I could imagine spending in just ONE DAY), I'd go on a little shopping spree for myself to stock up on some nice clothes for all seasons, shoes, electronics, etc. Treat my friends to a huge dinner and drinks that night, and that would be about it. If the rules were loosened so I could put it towards traveling (which would require saving some aside to be spent other days), I'd skip the shopping spree and just travel all around the world.

I'm a modest person with no need for extravagance. But even I could spend $1M in a day. I would buy a modest house, just something simple for me and my kids. Clothes for my kids. A newer car. Help my sister and her husband get out of debt. Buy something nice for my parents, and my nephews. My sister-in-law is about to have a baby, so I would buy her all sorts of baby things.
Then if I had anything left over, I would take myself and my kids on a real vacation. I'm talking England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Egypt (to see the pyramids). I would go back to Cancun, Mexico. I went there years ago and have been wanting to go back. I love history and I have been wanting to visit countries with thousands of years of world history. Of course I couldn't visit all those places in one day, but I could reserve and pay for trips to those places in one day. :)

Nothing. I could use that money for longer term health related problems, and debts, and such. So if I had to spend it on an item of fleeting value, it would be a depressing waste.

I could spend it on property, invest it somehow, but, well, I'd rather have the cash on the ready.

A house for me and my parents
Loads of new clothes
Donate a large amount of money to charity
Buy all differnet bits and bobs

Oh and I would keep all the receipts so after that day has gone I could go out and get my money back on a few things to put the money into my bank account securely and safely to live off the interest.
