Jesus died for YOUR sins, not mine.

That depends on what church you are from. My church supports gay rights and has a few gay members, myself included. We do not believe homosexuality is sin -- but then again, we also do not believe that the Bible is anything other than what history shows -- a book created out of the Council of Carthage, the bishops selecting the most "doctrinal" (in line with the Nicean Creed) manuscripts at the Synod of Hippo and then having those approved as canon at Carthage really. So... Christianity existed for hundreds of years with no official canon-- and did fine.

Christianity is faith in Jesus Christ, not faith in a document which is provably fallible.

last time i checked, you guys also say that God created everything. and do homosexual animals sin as well? and how about the other animals etc? humans may have intelligence, but so do others. do animals have a heaven and/or hell? do they worship a God? AND HOW DO YOU COME AND SAY THAT GAYS CHOSE TO BE GAY? YOU CANNOT AND DO NOT (or do you, i remember your other post about those phoney "ex-gay" groups just a bit ago) KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE GAY. if you really were gay, you'd know that it isn't a choice. have you every heard of any devout non-heterosexual christians? what is your lifestyle, hate? you need to learn how to love. you need to learn how to accept. otherwise, you'll never get past what others say and tell you, you'll always be gullible and trapped. (and why do christians spit on gays over their beliefs not proven to be true?)

I am gay but I don't hate Jesus Christ why should I, I think you will find the majority of gays are the same I fail to see just because someone is gay why they should hate Jesus Christ you can be gay and still be a Christan

more lies, assumptions and generalizing stereotypes by a close-minded bigot. why can't any of you learn facts, live in reality and accept the truth? because none of those things back up your irrational hatred?
we don't "hate" Jesus Christ. I am, as well as all of my gay and lesbian friends, Christian. I grew up going to church and Sunday school. and I was taught that God created and loves us all. and, that passing judgment on others and preaching hatred and intolerance are sins! YOU spit on Jesus Christ by posting such a hate-filled question! there's nothing worse than someone who "uses" religion to justify their bigotry!

You really are dumb aren't you. Jesus didn't die for anyone's sins that is such a ridiculous notion. Jesus loved everyone equally, if you love Jesus so much then why don't you practice a bit more loving instead of this silly, petty hatred of your fellow human beings. Jesus didn't teach this sort of hatred. I love Jesus thank you very much & I know Jesus loves me.

1. Jesus is mythology. I no more hate Jesus than I do the Easter bunny or Santa Clause.

2. I don't believe in your religion so it should go without saying I don't believe in your silly concept of sin.

3. If who I am offends you, that's just tough. You'll have to deal with it.

This is a cut'n'paste of my own answer to another question. I feel it is equally relevant to this question.

These are some of the passages used to justify homophobia within the christian community:

Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

Leviticus 18:22
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

However:

"Slaves you may possess, but make sure they are foreigners. You may also make slaves of the natives who dwell among you and from their children who are born and reared in your land. You may own them as chattels and leave them to your sons as their heriditary property, making them slaves forever. But you should not lord it over your own countryman, your own kinsmen." Lev. 25:44

"When a man beats a slave so hard that he dies in a day or two, he shall not be punished, for the slave is his property." Ex. 21:20

Leviticus 19:19 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; nor shall there come upon you a garment of cloth made of two kinds of fabric

(Best check on homophobic christians theories of the legitimacy of slavery, also have a look at their garment lables.) Literal interpretations of the bible are not always helpful, consideration of meaning and context is needed. (You say religion in your question, I am sticking to responding with the christian religion and bible passages as it's the only religion outside paganism that I know much about) In general it is not religion or even God that argues against the velidity of specific groups in a community, there are many gay folk within the church. The problem is with people who like to persecute, sadly some of these choose to try to use their religion to justify their actions.

I'm sure most will agree this question does not deserve much of an answer, because it's unfounded to begin with. Why do most Christians kill? No, don't bother answering that, it's just as unfounded a question as the first one was.
