Yes, men do think about having sex with platonic female friends. I have heard many a man saying how they think about having sex with female friends. They feel that to daydream is okay as long as they don't actually do it.

I don't know about the rest of the male population, but some of my male co-workers tell me they fantasize about me and wish they could have a "free pass", meaning that they would like to be a little naughty without getting into trouble.
