The war on terror will take a long time and cost a lot of money, and cost us a lot in blood. The president has been saying this all along. I don't know why this country has lost its nerve.

Since they made spending huge amounts of money for nothing (no positive results) the thing the government does, they have already won.
The 911 attack has cost the USA already close to $2 Trillion. And most of that because of Washington stupidity (well maybe not, since they shuffle all that money into their cronies pockets).
