I am going to Orlando in January 2008 and was hoping someone who lives there could give me a rough idea of what the weather is like there at that time of year.

It can completely flucuate. This year for example...the first week in January was in high 70s but the rest of the month was on the cooler side in 50s. It tends to go into 30-40s at night.

As the others said, it is really hard to tell. Temperatures and things are always different. One season it may run unusually warm, the next it may run unusually cold.

But, to give you an idea of what to expect, the average temperature is high of 72 low of around 50 (fahrenheit) Rain is around 2.43 inches, this is according to the weather channel. Since this is an average, the actual weather may be warmer or cooler, it may rain more or less.

I also agree to watch the weather channel before you go. If you start watching around December and January, then that should give you an idea of how the weather is comparing to the usual averages.

Enjoy your planning, this is the best part, other than the trip!

Usually the weather is in the 70's but there are some days that we will experience some freezing temperatures but it only last a few days. A week or so before you go on vacation, go online to the weather channel and monitor the weather.

There is no guarantee, it could be in mild in the 70's or low 80's or they could get a cold front and the temperature could drop into the 30's or 40's. It's a crap shoot.
