My art teacher was giving us a lecture on plasma cutting and he said the pilot is hotter than the sun's surface. Is this true?

A plasma cutter can reach temperatures in the neighborhood of 30,000 degrees Farenheit.

The surface temperature of the sun is closer to 10,000 degrees.

Your art teacher is correct.

Could be. Both are plasma, but the sun is much more volume than the pilot.
