I've often read that adults need 7-8 hours of sleep a night. But even when I get 8 hours of sleep it doesn't seem like enough. I'm 21 years old, I'm a housewife so I don't have a job thats highly demanding physicly. I've always been this way but its starting to get a little old. I need anywhere between 10 and 12 hours of sleep a night just to feel rested the next day! If I sleep any less I feel sick and tired all day. Why am I like this and what can I do? It seems by the time I wake up its almost time to go to bed again.

I would ask your doctor. It's very possible that you're not getting good sleep while you're in bed. There are all kinds of things that could cause trouble.

For example, I have a coworker whose wife was complaining about his snoring. He went for a visit at his local sleep study center. When he woke up in the morning, they asked him how well he slept...Good, he said, woke up a couple of times. Oh, but no! They actually counted 37 times that he woke up, he just didn't realize it! Sleep apnea was his problem, and he had a couple of outpatient surgical procedures to correct the problem. He is now sleeping and dreaming like he hadn't done in 20 years!!!
