Damn right you do !!! If it's a new machine,go public if Argos won't help you....Your statutary rights still exist regardless of receipts...They have records even if you don't..The machine should have a serial number...Take it to the top..Bloody villains !!!!!

You need to prove when you purchased the machine. Proof of purchase is usually a receipt but it can be a counterfoil from your cheque book, your bank or credit card statement showing when the transaction was processed, a delivery form or anything else that shows when you bought the washing machine. They are wrong to say that only a receipt constitutes proof of purchase. Assuming that you have some other proof of purchase I suggest you contact Customer Services at the Argos head office if the store from which you purchased it continue to refuse to honour the guarantee.

Yes you have rights, get bank statement /credit card statement, copy of cheque, write covering letter (keep copies) send to argos,if all that fails, phone Trading Standards at your council office they will help you,I would not want this machine repaired firstly it's still under warranty
and if they start messing inside it will keep breaking down, stick to your guns and fight for a new one,if all this fails go to the newspapers(The Sun is best ) go to your citizen advice office the can help, they have lawyers who will help you,Try your M.P. as well they are very helpful, keep a log of all phone calls/bank charges you have to pay and send the bill to argos
I really think argos are trying it on with you, they know they are in the wrong, pester them right to the end. In future please keep all receipts for 1 year and this won't happen to you again
FIGHT FOR YOU RIGHTS !!!!! RIGHT TO THE END
Good Luck

Yes, you have your Statutory Rights with the manufacturers who have to repair it at their own cost or replace it. The problem you have is no proof of purchase to prove how long you have had the appliance. Perhaps you can get some advice from the Trading Standards people on this. Never throw any reciepts away . Always keep them for at least 2 years for a purchase that is over £50, just in case!!!

If you cannot provide a receipt, try contacting the manufacturer. They should be able to verify how old it is from the serial number. Did you post the guarantee card back to them when you purchased it? You have rights under the Sale of Goods Act; the local CAB can advise on this. Good luck.

Yes, you do have rights but if you don't have your receipt then Argos aren't responsible (unless they want to be). You'll have to contact the manufacturer as all items of this nature are guaranteed for a year under the manufacturer's warranty.

Did you use a credit card to buy it? They have their own help section for these things.
If not try Citizens Advice Bureau, they will give you free advice, and I am sure there is always a 12 month guarantee on this kind of item.
Good Luck

That wouldnt by any chance be the Servis M6666 1600rpm one would it? mine went after 4 washes thankfully i had the receipt. If you sent the warranty away like you should have done call the manufacturer directly, they will send an engineer out, within the first year it should be free
