I think so!!!!!

Al Davis LOVES speed that's why he will draft Calvin Johnson! No one is saying JaMarcus Russell will be a great QB..... plus if Miami trades for Trent Green, Culpepper will become available and we know how great he was with Randy Moss.

Plus there are other QBs in the draft like Trent Edwards, Jordan Palmer and etc.

Terry is DUMB. IF Al Davis loves QBs, why didn't he draft Matt Leinart or Jay Cutler last season?????? Why hasn't he drafted a QB with a 1st rd pick since Todd Marinovich???? Because he has never had luck drafting QBs. Remember Marc Wilson???? All their great QBs were veterans that he signed from other teams like Jim Plunkett, Rich Gannon, etc.

You know nothing about Al Davis...He loves QBs like Matt Millen loves WRs...Johnson is headed to the Lions at #2 and JaMarcus Russell is your #1...to the Raiders...

I think the Raiders will end up drafting WR Calvin Johnson.

It's not that Al Davis would prefer Johnson over Russell. Media reports suggest Davis wanted Leinert last year & blames Art Shell for the choice of Michael Huff over Leinert. I'm guessing Al Davis wants Russell.

But I agree that there are other QBs in this draft that the Raiders could take later (Drew Stanton, Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb) who might not be as much of a bust risk as Russell. The Raiders' best option might be to trade down a couple spots in hopes of getting Brady Quinn, as sure a thing at QB as any player in this draft.

It all may come down to if the Raiders find a trading partner for Randy Moss and/or Jerry Porter. If they do, then they can legitimately take Johnson for a "team need." So don't touch that dial! ;) In the end, I don't think they find a trade down that they like, they trade one of their disgruntled WRs, and take Johnson.

As a life long Raider fan i really hope we get Calvin Johnson, the only thing JaMarcus Russell has going for him is that he can launch a ball 80 yards that's it, well i'm pretty sure he's got other things going for him but all i hear is his throwing ability, noe Calvin Johnson on the other hand what i'm hearing is that he's the BEST in this years draft and better than most WR out right now so i say run the 3WR play like the colts do and can you imagine our WR corps!!!! Moss, CJ, Porter and why has everyone given up on Andrew Walter? QB's aren't made in one season, even Peyton Manning had a bad rookie season, i say stick with Walter or maybe sign Culpepper for a year or two and let's draft the player who everyone is calling the BEST.

Your right on saying Al Davis Loves speed! and thats exactly what CJ21 has! i really believe the Oakland Raiders will select CJ21 because hes the best player in the draft. Like you said Trent Edwards may be there in the second round for the taking who i believe will be an above average starting QB in the NFL. i think taking a QB with the 1st overall pick is always risky. CJ21 in my mind is a mix of T.O. with size and Randy Moss w/ speed w/o all the attitude problems, once in a decade type player, got to take him and hope Trent Edwards is there in the 2nd round!! DONT forget about Michigan State QB Drew Stanton also, he draws comparisons to Rich Gannon!

If the Raiders pick up a descent QB from free agency I think they pick up Johnson. If not I see them getting Russell or trading down to get Johnson and then picking up a QB in the later rounds.

Same thing as the Chargers did in 2001 trading away Michael Vick and picked up LT then Drew Brees in the second round. Now look at where the chargers are and where Michael Vick is. Good move by the chargers.

Really Good QB's are only as good as the team around them, Russell will suck unless the Raiders get some players around him. So I say trade the pick get a playmaker in Johnson and go from there.

If the Raiders pick Calvin Johnson over Russel, it will be the most stupid choice on EARTH!! First off the Raiders wont have a QB to get Johnson the ball. Walters sucks and they really dont have anyone else. Russel HAS to be picked by the raiders. They need a QB BADLY!!

Al Davis has already said he thinks Jarmarcus Russell is another John Elway due to his arm strength and side to side motion, and he is still bitter that he didnt get Elway back in the day. He is infatuated with Russell and that is why he will take him come draft day! IF he drafts CJ it will ONLY be to trade him to a team that really wants him in exchange for their first rounder and extra picks, probably the teams entire first days worth of picks. Even then it will likely be a team with a top 5 pick so that Russell isnt out of reach for them.

IT DEPENDS BECAUSE if the raiders are interested in trading Randy Moss on draft day< they might feel the need to go with Calvin Johnson, but over all i believe they will go with Jamarcus Russell because they may not have faith in Aaron Brooks.

Ya know what, if Al Davis had any brain cells left in that decrepit old head of his he would draft Calvin Johnson, by far the best player in the draft. Passing him for Russell would be like the Texans passing Reggie Bush for Mario Williams. STUPID!!!

Who is gonna throw the ball to Calvin? Obviously their O'line isn't improved so Walters isn't gonna be throwing to him. So the obvious choice is Russell. Davis will be a hated man in Oakland , just as the GM for Houston last year when they didn't take Vince Young, if they go WR rather than QB
