No, it is simply the end of the Mayan long count calender.. It is the beginning of a new age, to us, the age of Aquarius.. The Mayan calender, when it reaches 13 baktuns, resets back to zero... I baktun = 144,000 days... 13 baktuns = 5,125 years... We will evolve Spiritually, and all false religions will be exposed, for what they are...They know this is coming and have been trying to see what we Spiritual people know about it since 1984.. Some say we will evolve into the 4th dimension, some say the 5th.. No matter what, we are evolving and becoming more Spiritual... Time has sped up, as we approach 23/12/2012, that is a scientific fact..Like it or not it will be there in the blink of an eye, I am getting old and won't get to see all of what will eventuate from this new era... Love and Light.. Blessed be... )O(

Yes. It will... But guess what? "We got fiiiiiiive years, that's all we got".

Um... I don't know. *shrug* Though it seems more than coincidence that so many prophecies aligning. The major obviously being the Mayan calendar. It's the end of the 12 baktun in the Long Count, thus reverting to 0, blah blah blah. The interesting thing is that the beginning the the current cycle was in 3114 BC, which, interestingly enough, is around the same time that Egypt was united, thus ushering in what's shaped the Western dominated world we live in. ie: It WAS the start of something, both in actuality and according to that calendar. So since a new cycle is starting in about 5 1/2 years, it makes sense that a new world order would, too.

Nostradamus also predicted a major world change around the same time. And the Fatima prophecies tie in, too... last generation and all that. And Lucia dos Santos, the last of the children, just died in 2005 (7 years before 2012, which leads to the Judeo-Christian Revelations)... not to mention the Judeo-Christian 11:11 (which is hardly a science, I guess... but according to some calculations, it's coming around the same time, too).

And it's odd that there are so many MAJOR prophecies placing a major change (though not necessarily the "end") at the same time. Someone's always been preaching the end of the world since the beginning of it... but never have so many major prophecies, that have been around for a long time, tied in together.

Will the world end? Probably not. Will anything significant happen in December of 2012? Maybe not. But it's still terribly fascinating!!!

The world is not going to end at all in 2012.

"2012" seems to be misnomer as no one seems to truly agree on this issue. However, there have been numerous accounts and "studies" done to reflect that "2012" already happened. This "alignment" has already happened astronomically as well. All the information should be taken into account when a questioning about "is the world going to end?"

Drunvalo wrote, "..the Gregorian Calendar, they would represent a period of time beginning at about 10,500 BCE and extending through history to end in December 2003...the Mayan elder and shaman/priest Hunbatz Men, and with Don Pablo, who is the Mayan people's elected spokesperson, and they both agree that December 2003 will mark the end of a very long cycle..."

"Peruvian shamans of the Q'ero line...have told shaman-psychologist Dr. Alberto Villoldo about the occurrence of an important event in the late fall of 2003. At that time, which they say will mark the end of the current, and final, "Pachakuti" (a period of cleansing, when everything is turned upside down),"

Calleman wrote, according to the Mayan Calendar , "Astronomers have calculated that the alignment that Jenkins talks about happened in the year 1998, and so will not occur in 2012... already happened in 1998.

I"n fact there is an alignment between the Sun and the Galactic Equator at the time of Winter Solstice, but it has already happened. It happened back in 1997 [21st December 1997 AD 14h 43m GMT]. "

An article from The Mayan Calendar: "..a day around the year 2012, which is 13 Ahau in the tzolkin count. The inscriptions in Palenque, written about a thousand years later than the Long Count was devised in Izapa, seem to indicate that the date of relevance is October 28, 2011"

As far as the "world ending in 2012" no..perhaps it has already "ended"....and the cycle continues...

More interpretation mumbo-jumbo.

The supposed Mayan 'date' of the 23rd of December 2012 is taken by many to mean 'The End of the World' ! ( Sound kettle drums, brass, and strings in a very dramatic dischordant crescendo )

In fact the Mayan long count shows dates millions of years into what we call the 'Past', and millions of years into what we call the 'Future'. So anyone who says that they ( actually it wasn't the Mayans who originated this calendar, but that's yet another story ) were predicting the 'End of the World' is talking ( painful ) or writing ( even more painful ) out of their bottoms.

It was merely the end of an 'Age', and to be precise it is the end of the 'Age' of the 'Lord of the Night', which was not, nor has been, a very auspicious time for us humans. In fact the Mayans were warned, about 500 years ago, to hide themselves away "under the trees, under the forest" for the duration of that age. Considering what was just about to arrive on their doorstep, I'm not surprised that they did !

Anyway, not the end of the world, the end of a not so good age, and the beginning of a really nice new one !

Cheer up, all you doomsayers.

There is, of course, no way to tell when or if the world will end. If you are referring to Mayan Prophcey, then this is an erroneous concept. The current cycle ends in 2012, but the cycle begins again.
The world is in constant change, this is what they were referring to, and I believe it has something to do with the cycle of the stars.

The world ends? NO. But at the winter solstice of 2012 we will reach a total collapse of time as we know it and an entry of humanity into post history.

The world won't end but there will be a cleansing and a new world will be reborn. As we go closer to the centre of the galaxy the Earth will enter the fifth dimension. The end times have already started so we have to think good thoughts because they manifest faster as we raise in vibration. The vibration of the Earth was measured and called Schumann waves, it was found to be raising in frequancy.

I guess u watched the same prog as me and my 10 yr old son, he asks me everyday an its becoming a bit of an issue if u ask me! Was it the Egyptians who had their own 'calendar' with 13 months and they also had predictions that so far have come true, they've said about the one that the something catastrophic will happen in 2012, we'll never know. so in answer to ur question i dunno lol, really i don't and i don't suppose anyone else will either eh? So i'll tell u the same as my son, don't worry about it live each day to the full and enjoy life its simple, no point worrying about something that mite never happen.

It may well do. But one things for sure theres no one on the planet who really knows.
Its funny how crack pot creationist nut jobs think the worlds going to end sometime soon usually within some short timespan. So that gullible fools can be taken in and hand over money to them.

It has to happen at some time, but I don`t think it will be right.
The thing we HAVE to look-out for is some terrorist group using 23/12/2010 to plot some EVIL doings.
But on a lighter note you could make-up a lotto line if your going to go maybe some fun before it happens.
See ya on the other side....
