A quick look at the ACLU website tells it's involved in "sponsoring" many issues. Higlighted are "Support the Freedom of Choice Act and protect women's health", "Veterans Win Right to Post Religious Symbol" and "New Campaign Promotes Youth Access to Lawyers". Lots of issues listed on the righthand side.

In the "Action Centre" are listed :

- Close Guantanamo

- Cosponsor the Responsible Education About Life (REAL) Act

- Help Restore Net Neutrality

- Demand NSA Oversight

More "Action Alerts" at : http://action.aclu.org/site/PageServer?pagename=AP_alerts_all

And I don't see any surprises, just issues an organisation like the ACLU has to do. But then I'm European.

Please, please, put something of the topic in the question. We already know it's about history because of the category.

But it wastes time (and you'll get fewer replies) if you give us no clue as to the relevant period or location. We're none of us experts on everything.
ACLU isn't my territory (I'm in the UK).
