red claw crab seem

i got a crab on sunday seems like a red claw crab (sesarma bidens). its around the size of 20p.

Now i can see two in the tank - or has it molted skin - one i can see moving behind rocks - the other is in the middle of the tank and is not moving.

Now pardon my ignorance - do they replicate - or is one a skin/exo-skeletal. I've not tried to touch it to disturb it - but the moving one isnt really coming in front of the stones.

I thank everyone for their help.

This would be "ecdysis", or skin moult. Crabs cannot grow that quickly from eggs! Best to remove it.

Your crab is probably lacking a reliable hiding spot. are you able to style a cave out of a few rocks or some thing for him to retreat to. Is your heater interior your filter out? verify the temperature of your water, he may be searching for some heat temperature. Are there any fish on your tank that desire to hardship the crab while he's out in the open?

I think it has cast its old shell off to grow. Unless you found a new multiplying crab species.
