Maybe she doesn't care for what may appear to be "brown-nosing", from your description, it does not seem like you really like her, and who would like someone who treated them like that? Just be polite, do your work and go home. She's not going to be your friend, sometimes those who oversee anyone else gets a bit full of themselves and forgets common courtesy. Don't expect anything in return for your kindness, not everyone appreciates what others do for them. You're not the only one this happens to. If it bothers you that much, find a job elsewhere.

I have known plenty of nice people in my life, and I haven't forgotten any of them. When people do special things for others, they tend to hold a special place in that person's heart. They may not always be talked about or mentioned, but few are seldom forgotten.

I disagree.
Maybe history forgets but in our hearts we all know the people over the years that were oh so very kind to us.
There is nothing more valuable in the world than a good friend who is there for you at your toughest moment.
I always remember who was nice! :-)

what is your job? maybe people who complain do hell of a work and get great results? if you always greet her and smile at her - it doesn't matter much to her if she is in business

You've got that all wrong.
Reminds me of:
" Nice guys finish last. "
If that's true, it's probably in order to give the bad guys time to finish their courses and watch the results.
So you can crack up at them.

because the mind tends to make obstacles, threats and crises seem larger, and these can overshadow the good people and events.

Because we tend to remember the people you hurt us over the people who help us. So bad...

idk... well because the sad things are easier to remember cause their so vague, the hatred is easier to remember cause its vague, but nice things dont put stress on the mind, they are hard to remember. ive been forgotten too, ive always tried to be as nice as possible even.
