.... place of residence, unless you feel it compromises your identity or something to that effect. I'm from a country that has said it's like sleeping in a bed with an Elephant. I love the New Jersey accent and feel that state gets a bad rap from people who don't know all of its good points.... I also like accents from the British Isles, Australia, Newfoundland, the Boston area, New Zealand, South Africa, Austria, Finland, the Baltics, Italy, Pakistan, India, South America, Puerto Rico, the San Fernando Valley, some Southern states in the U.S., New Hampshire and Eastern Vermont, the Iberian peninsula... the list goes on a bit longer... but for some reason, and I must temper this with a comment that I love France and the French people, find it irritating when they speak English with a French accent... or maybe it's actually when actors try to imitate French people speaking English, like that guy from 'Cheers' who tried to steal Woody's girlfriend, then later played Joel Rifkin... oh

I love the New England accent. My father was from Massachusetts. I grew up in NJ, never picking up that accent, but have lived in PA for the last 42 years! Interestingly, PA has several accents, the Philly one and the Pittsburgh one come to mind.

I absolutely melt for an Australian accent...I have a friend in Queensland that calls me every once in a while and my husband laughs at how I just go ga-ga for his accent! lol

I am American, so my mother tongue is English...born and raised Texan, so I guess I have a slight southern accent, but I'm a city girl, so my accent isn't all that thick. I still reside in the great state of Texas :)
