I'm 6'1" 180 pounds 51 Years. I got great legs, not hair, I lost it on its own, Size 10 in men's shoes,. I thinks I'm a 14 in women's dress size. How long should the dress/skirt be. I like pleats. Would a dress be better ?

Well, in general, tall people want to avoid really long skirts--that's just too much material. I would go for a skirt that hits just above your knees--that's the most universally flattering length, and it's always in style. Pleats--there are all kinds of pleats! I like pleats, too. Be sure you don't get a skirt that looks like 1) a kilt (unless you like kilts) or 2) a schoolgirl's skirt. Miniskirts with pleats are in style, but I don't think those are very attractive, personally, and you can't wear them if there's any wind. Since you're tall, keep in mind that you'll want to look for a skirt with pleat details that match your build. For instance, avoid the tiny little ruffle pleats. Pleats are generally better with skirts, I think--I think the ideal pleat for you would be a skirt that's straight down to a few inches above the knee, and then has a pleated hem below. Those are always classy and fun at the same time, and you can show off your calves--often the sexiest part of the leg.

As far as dresses go, the rule for good lengths is about the same. But dresses can be longer than skirts, as long as you go for a dramatic look--usually to a special event, not every day. In that case, a dress that hits at about mid-calf can be very stunning, especially since you're tall. Short people can't pull those off. And don't forget the heels if you wear a long dress! Flats are an absolute no-no there. :)

Have fun shopping!

I am about 5'10", a size 12/14 and have "okay" legs (I guess...it's hard to judge yourself sometimes). I suggest wearing a dress/skirt that ends just above your knees. It'll show off your great legs, but not be too revealing. What is this dress/skirt for? A special occasion?

I think just below the knee would be best....anything longer may make you look matronly. Pleats will be ok as long as the waistband is fitted (with zipper). NO elastic waistbands...that will just make you look really wide.

Dresses should be ok, just stay away from anything bias cut...too clingy. For your build you should consider a basic A-line dress with a jacket. Be sure to choose colors that compliment your skin tone and hair color.

Skirts or dresses at or below the knee are most flattering for people in their 50s. Great legs or not, it's just not age appropriate to wear short skirts. It makes you look like you're trying to pass for younger than you are, and it usually doesn't work.

Well you'll want a longer length, knee or longer, either skirt or dress. Just don't wear anything short so that nothing peeks out...
