There was an article in conceive magazine about how taking Ibuprofen (ie Motrin or advil) or any other NSAID (naproxen, aspirin, etc) can block prostiglandins that are necessary in order to ovulate. It will not damage your uterus, if that is what you are asking but it does cause a block in certain hormones that will throw off your ovulation therefor making it hard to get pregnant. You should be able to use them moderately during your period, as this only affects the ovulation within about 5-7 days. Women who are on IUI treatment are advised not to use the medications whenever possible.

Now, as far as for your cramps there are a few different options. Heat is the best, warm soaks or heating pad at the first sign of cramps can do wonders. Walk. I know that is the last thing you want to do but the excersise seriously helps. Evening primrose oil is a natural route, you take starting 5 day before your period and it helps with the hormone levels and cramps. You can get it in the vitamin section of most pharmacies. I personally take Vicodin or Darvocet along with these methods because my cramps are so wicked. Those are prescription, obviously so you must talk to your doctor about those. Naproxen (aleve 2 for the first does then 1 every 12 hours with food.) or Ibuprofen (up to 4 of the OTC 200mg, 3 times daily WITH FOOD) are the best OTC meds. Midol is just Tylenol with caffeine and a diuretic (for the bloating) waste of money if you ask me. There is also a prescription med called Ponstel that is very good, but very expensive. Hope this helps!

As far as mu knowledge is concerned, it is not good to take weight loosing tablets. Generally speaking medicines have side effects, and why you want ot have unnecessary problems? Suppressing your hunger and not eating enough will help to reduce weight, is that right? If you really want to be slim, you have to do physical exercise at least five days a week along with good balanced diet.

Talk to your doctor about which pill to take, and only take the recommended amounts...and then no, I don't think it will have any effect on your womb. But if you take more than the recommended dosage of pills, you can do serious damage to your stomach and liver, so don't do that!
