I'm a big non-fiction reader.
There are alot of good memoirs out there right now.
Try Augusten Burroughs, Running with Scissors
One of my favorite biographies is "Che, A Revolutionary Life" by Jon Lee
Great rock -n-roll biography is Heavier than Heaven based on the life of Kurt Cobain. It's excellent.

My favorite book is a work of fiction called The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I'm finding more time to read now, though, so I'm in search of a new favorite book. Nothing has enthralled me yet like The Secret History, but some have come pretty close.Looking for a new favorite book is pretty good motivation, though!

Though question. There are so many great books out there. The best book I`ve ever read(that I can think of) must be "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
It`s a very funny book about the Apocalypse.

7] mysteries in general;then biographies,science,self improvement
8] go to the library; ask for books about something you really like - music, motorcycles, craftsand branch out from there.

I, too, would have to say 'The Stranger' by Camus. Most original book I've ever read, and I've read many!
And sorry dude, I mistakenly gave you a thumbs down when I wanted to give you a thumbs up! I love Camus!!!
P.S., what's with that crazy-as s long, rambling post? That guy should be thrown out of here.

The Stranger, by Albert Camus. This book changed my entire life, was the turning point for me, when I began to understand existentialism, and buy into it.
