I've been doing the silence thing for years and it's gotten me nowhere. I admire people who can express themselves honestly.

Well just for me personally, i would prefer brutal honesty over a silence made to spare my feelings any day....but thats just my point of view and i know that not everyone would feel the same way....so i guess it depends a lot on the person and if they would prefer the truth or a simple hug in silence...cuz in a way, sometimes, silence is the best answer you could give someone aswell...but again, it really all depends on the circumstances....

Silence is usually better. Honesty will get you into trouble in some cases. That's the fun part of being an adult is figuring out when to use what. But no matter what you do never, ever volunteer information. If you answer a question, just answer the quesion and no more.

Honesty for me. Straight up, even if it might hurt because in the pain is a lesson. The lesson will just come at another time, anyway, why not get it over with? Silence can also be interpreted as lying by omission and that is never okay.

Maybe, but silence can sometimes be interpreted as agreement. I would opt for silence if truth might hurt another's feelings. Excellent question.
