Only for women in the trailer park.

I've noticed through the years that many women who get absorbed by soap operas tend to orchestrate high drama in their own lives. It's not as glamorous as it is on TV, but it's intense just the same. If only they'd learned to watch TV objectively, they could rise out of the ashes of every Saturday night.

TV characters generally aren't role models. The daily life of somebody following all the rules, being safe, being moral, etc would make for very boring television.

Role models - no, definitely not. Examples of how women can really behave - yes, most definitely. Lynnette Scavo is absolutely despicable the way she keeps bulldozing over Tom. NO MAN should put up with that EVER!!!

role models are overrated. people should realize their own strengths and capabilities - tailored through their own unique sense of decency and mores to develop their own way in life. Those who try to emulate otheres are not genuine.
