Dr. Suess' real name is Theodore Suess Geisel. He entered Oxford intending to earn a doctorate in literature, but he did not complete the program. The pronunciation of 'Suess' is commonly pronounced like 'juice', but with 's' replacing 'j'. Geisel himself is quoted as saying 'Seuss - rhymes with voice'.
