um, this might sound a lil morbid, but really it's not. NOT in any kind of religious sense, and really people, I'm NOT depressed/suicidal/etc....but is it weird to just wonder what it would like to be dead? I DON'T mean 'what do you think it's like'......I mean is it weird for me(or anyone) to wonder that?

No, you're not weird for wondering about that. There are many people who are fascinated with it and those who study it. For example, coroners have to perform autopsies to determine how someone died. That's the study of death and what it's about. You're just intellectual, that's all.

Nay...I think we all do and some people make a great deal of money using that very contemplation. Edwards who speaks to the dead is one that comes to mind. Poe the poet is another that comes to mind, King is another, so on and so on. Some of the most moving movies one has ever seen come from the wondering and putting into words and pictures what death would be like. Good and evil alike.

I find myself wondering if this isn't hell we are living in, just some of hell is better than the other. Crazy but true.

That's not a weird thing to wonder about at all. I'm sure everyone has wondered that at some time. Wondering about it is all any of us on earth can do, since we can't ask anyone that it's already happened to. And I don't even think people that have had near-death experiences could give us a concrete answer, because they made it back here alive.

We will all wonder until it happens to us.

No, it's not weird, it's an understandable product of our human consciousness, because as far as we are aware we are the only organism that has the capacity to understand that it is mortal.
So it's probably the most "natural" question in the world, apart from "what is the meaning of (human) life?"
Those two questions have perplexed countless generations of humans and have been instrumental in the desire for religion and philosophical enquiry in various societies.
But I don't think it would be "like" anything to be dead, because you are talking about comparing an experience with something else, and we compare experiences with our intellect, which is a product of our living brain.

It is a normal question--but it is little different than wondering what is would be like to travel through space, or to be lost on a desert island. It shows that you are wondering what would happen to you, and that you have an inquisitive mind. Don't look for any bizzare meaning in the fact that you wondered about it, people have wondered about it probably since the first person died. "Wow, how do you suppose he feels now?"

its totally normal to wonder what is beyond this life. Why do you think there is heaven or reincarnation? To give people hope of a better place beyond this one. No one really knows if you go somewhere else or if you're just dead. Most of us think about it at some point and wonder.

Just enjoy life while you have it, and don't dwell on death too much.

It is a question that most people think about.
I personally had a near death experience. I was in a glorious white light feeling complete peace. I do have my religious beliefs, but even with that I think that death and the spiritual realm is far from our human understanding. It is a mystery.

That is a thought, question and something which human-kind has wondered about down through time. There is nothing unusual in wondering what it is like on "The Other Side". Humans are just naturally highly curious creatures. They always have been and always will be.

No, it's not weird. Quite common in fact. Since we all know that we are going to die at some point, it's natural to wonder or imagine what death will be like...even if we believe it to be nothing more than the end (like a permanent sleep, w/o dreams).

I died, and was brought back,I remembered some of it,it was like a dream,I was still alive, but I was someone else,I don't remember who.I do remember the colors were very bright, and an unusual feeling of calm was in me.I have read and seen many accounts of people coming back from death. Most of them tell of the tunnel, and seeing relatives, even Jesus.I missed all of that, but I did gain one thing,I am no longer afraid of death, you just slip out of this reality, and their you are,in another.
